41st European Cystic Fibrosis Conference in Belgrade

The Greek delegation at CF EUROPE

The Greek delegation of representatives of Cystic Fibrosis patients attended this year again from the 1st day of the Scientific Conference, participating in the annual meeting of the European Cystic Fibrosis Patients Association – CF EUROPE, representing once again the Greek patients. The President Dimitris Kontopidis and the General Secretary of the Hellenic Cystic Fibrosis Association Anna Spinou informed the European community about the developments in our country regarding Cystic Fibrosis, the planned actions of the Association and developed the basis for cooperation with organizations from several countries. Also discussed with the representatives from other countries, various issues such as drug reimbursement, clinical studies and finding resources, with the necessary exchange of information and know-how, in order to achieve more effective intervention through cooperation.

Our representatives also attended the presentation of the new research project HITCF-EUROPE for patients with rare cystic fibrosis mutations by the European Patients’ Organisation.

The Greek delegation at the ECFS scientific conference

The representatives of our Association together with our doctors from Cystic Fibrosis Units all over the country were present at the ECFS Scientific Community Conference, held at the Sava Centar Conference Centre. The conference program included, among other things, numerous presentations and workshops on various topics related to medication, medical care, physiotherapy, exercise, nutrition and psychology. Particular emphasis was placed on promising new developments regarding new innovative therapies for Cystic Fibrosis patients and the specific treatment of the symptoms of the disease, as well as the importance of physiotherapy and exercise for improving patients’ lives.
