The “Secret Mission: K.I.” started from Thebes

The 4th Primary School of Thebes becomes the first school of secret agents in Greece

A special and very touching educational action took place on Wednesday 17 December 2025 at the 4th Primary School of Thebes, where the educational campaign “Secret Mission: Cystic Fibrosis (CF)”.

The campaign is addressed to students of 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade and combines play, imagination and experiential learning.

The school’s students became the first “Secret Agents” of the mission around the world, participating in an interactive experience full of missions, role-playing, music, creative activities, imagination and positive life messages.

The action is based on the children’s book “Secret Mission: C.I.²” and aims, on the occasion of Cystic Fibrosis and transplantation, to cultivate in children empathy, acceptance, self-care and the power to face difficulties – visible or invisible – by discovering the “Hidden Abilities” that every child hides inside.

The presentation was given by the actor-animator Yannis Vourakis in the role of the special envoy agent of the Headquarters, while the children had a live online connection with Anna Spinou, President of the Panhellenic Cystic Fibrosis Association and “Leader” of the Secret Mission, who sent them top secret messages from the “Secret Headquarters”.

A special contribution to the success of the action was made by the Director of the school, Mrs. Nika Despina, as well as the teachers of the class, who embraced the initiative and contributed to the creation of a safe, creative and empowering environment for the children.

The educational campaign “Secret Mission: K.I.” is an initiative of the Panhellenic Cystic Fibrosis Association and bears the creative signature of Liana Nemezaki, author and illustrator of the book. Liana Noezaki is the soul and the creative core of the whole project. With deep knowledge of the children’s world, sensitivity and many years of systematic creative work, she transformed a difficult reality into a bright, tender and empowering narrative that speaks to children with honesty, imagination and strength.

The educational campaign is the result of the collaboration of a multidisciplinary team of teachers, health scientists, psychologists, creators, artists, aiming to create a modern, safe and pedagogically documented tool for children. The pedagogical supervision and documentation of the campaign is carried out by Dr. Zoe Krokou, Special Pedagogy, ensuring that the content and activities meet the needs of the classroom and substantially enhance empathy, mental resilience and active participation of students.

After Thebes, the educational campaign “Secret Mission: K.I.” continues its journey in 2026 to schools in Greece, with presentations, teacher training seminars and educational material for the classroom. The aim is to inspire more and more children to believe in their power and to discover the Hidden Abilities they have within themselves for every difficulty life brings.

The campaign is under the scientific auspices of the Hellenic Paediatric Pulmonology Society, the Hellenic Transplantation Organisation and the Hellenic Pulmonary Society and is implemented with the support of Vertex Pharmaceuticals – Platinum Sponsor and the supporters Hellenic American Union, Special Therapeutics and PrintServe.
