Home Delivery of High-Cost EOPYY Medications to Minors as Well

Since 27 May 2026, the home delivery service for High-Cost Medicines (HCMs) through EOPYY pharmacies has also been available to pediatric patients, ensuring access to the service for all people with Cystic Fibrosis, regardless of age.

The program was launched as a pilot by the Cystic Fibrosis Association following a relevant Ministerial Decision in early 2024 (see here and here). In May 2025, it was gradually expanded to all adult beneficiaries of EOPYY, including refrigerated medications (see here).

For patients with cystic fibrosis, timely and continuous access to their treatments is essential for maintaining their health and quality of life. High-cost treatments are delivered directly to patients’ homes by EOPYY pharmacies and include, among other things, innovative CFTR modulators that target the underlying causes of the disease, inhaled therapies for cystic fibrosis, and other specialized medications, which are taken daily for life.

The option of home delivery significantly reduces the burden on patients with cystic fibrosis and their families caused by monthly trips and waiting times at EOPYY pharmacies, facilitating the uninterrupted continuation of their treatment. At the same time, it limits the need for patients to remain in crowded areas, reducing the likelihood of exposure to infections. This is particularly important for patients with cystic fibrosis, who are especially vulnerable to respiratory infections.

The Panhellenic Cystic Fibrosis Association has been monitoring and supporting the development and implementation of the home medication delivery service from the very beginning, in close collaboration with the relevant departments of EOPYY, by submitting the comments and suggestions of the patient community.
At the same time, since the service was expanded to include adult patients, the Association has promptly informed pediatric cystic fibrosis centers throughout the country, and we remain in open communication with treating physicians and EOPYY, to ensure the smooth implementation of the service.
Our goal is to continuously improve the process and ensure that all patients with cystic fibrosis have safe and uninterrupted access to life-saving treatments.

For detailed instructions on how to request home delivery of medications through the EOPYY platform at https://fyk.eopyy.gov.gr/ can be found on the Association’s website: cysticfibrosis.gr/odigos-parochon/paroxes-ygeias/#farmakeytiki

* Please note that home delivery applies to high-cost medications that are reimbursed and dispensed through EOPYY pharmacies. For medications dispensed through individual IFET orders, the existing dispensing procedure remains in effect.
